The African-American Newspaper

 The African-American newspaper.  I don’t know the story behind this newspaper but this was its title.  I don’t know when exactly it came into being.  I really only know that it was around after the Civil War and it covered news in New York City.  I don’t know if it was a New York City only paper or where else it might have been printed.  It is interesting though to know that there was an African-American newspaper in the period after the Civil War.  I can add the story of this newspaper to a very long list of things that I might potentially like to investigate and learn about.  I learned about this newspaper when I read a story about an ancestor of mine in it.

Ok, from what little I can see right now without paid access to my Ancestry.com account, the newspaper existed from 1829-1947.
